Tuesday, July 18, 2023 - Cardiff, Wales

I am amazed it's been 4 days since I last updated the blog.  Time is flying by.  Max, and his girlfriend Ash, arrived here in Cardiff 2 days ago. They flew into London, checked out London a little, and then took a train from London to Cardiff.  The Cardiff train station was close enough to our Airbnb that they could walk from the train station.  It's great to see them.  They were jet lagged for one day and then hit the ground running Monday (yesterday) - youth!

Yesterday, we had a great breakfast in downtown Cardiff, visited the Cardiff Castle, did a little shopping, walked through and tasted some baked goods in the Cardiff Market and had a very nice dinner again in downtown Cardiff.

Sooz and I picked up a rental car Sunday and have been using it for the 4 of us to get around.  Max has driven a couple of times also and done a great job driving on the left side and not getting too turned around in the roundabouts.

This morning I dropped off the GS at a local shop for regular maintenance and should pick it up tomorrow.  It's almost impossible to get it into a BMW motorcycle shop due to the long wait times.  The soonest shops could get me in was September, and that's too long to wait.  I'm using a local shop here in Cardiff that is recommended by the BMW shop, so it should be fine.

This scooter rally looks like fun but we will not be here.  We talked to one of the organizers who has attended scooter rallies in the US also.
