Balkans September 4, 2018 Ljubljana, Slovenia

7:15 pm.  Sitting on the porch of our Airbnb apartment in Slovenia Sooz found for us.  Overlooking a public square surrounded by coffee shops, restaurants and 6 story apartment buildings. Very European feel, which is good, considering where we are.
We toured the Predjama Castle in the morning. It's a feat of 12th century construction that has been expanded and improved over the centuries. But it is still a building built into a cool, moist and mostly dark mountain. Nice to look at and visit but not very comfortable to live in, and lots and lots of stairs.
I'm guarding the entrance to the torture chamber, look at how small the door is.
It is located at a watershed divide, one side flowing into the Adriatic Sea and the other flowing into the Black Sea.  I can't escape water planning stuff.
The surrounding landscape is gorgeous, gently rolling and deep green.
We met a couple from Switzerland riding a Harley!  The picture is for Ed and Larry.
We're going to take a walking tour of old town Ljubljana tomorrow and hope the rain holds off enough.  Today was beautiful but the next couple of days may be wet.
