Balkans September 8, 2018 Bohinj, Slovenia

Posting this on the 9th:  We had a beatiful ride from Bled to Bohinj planning on checking out the area and continuing on riding north.  But once we got here and saw the lake and the nice little town with no crowds we decide to stay 2 nights, actually Sooz decided and I'm glad she did.  She found us a great place to stay and I was itching to ride some twisty mountain rodes so we took off on the bike towards Soca Valley which I had marked as a place to check out.
The ride was spectacular; tight, twisty 2 lane roads winding through woods, tiny villages and open landscapes.  We have seen more motorcycles here than anywhere else, mostly Harleys and BMWs with some Japanese sport bikes mixed in.
You know you are in for a great ride when Google map tells you the distance is 31 miles and it's going to take over 90 minutes to get there.
Getting into the Soca area we stopped for a diet Coke (unfortunately we haven't seen any diet Pepsi) on the shore of a wide area of the Isonzo River.  Pictures below try to capture the aqua green color of the water.  At least that's what Sooz tells me, my color blindness keeping me from seeing all of the shades.  But even I could tell it was something special.
The first pictures below show Lake Bled and from Bled Castle, Lake Bohinj and then the ride to Soca Valley and that lake follow, a shot of the motorcycle Mama, ending with a picture out the balcony of our room in Bohinj.
