June 11, 2022 - Homer, AK

We had a nice day doing touristy things in Homer like visiting the Farmer's Market and riding the 6-mile length of The Spit. The Spit is a narrow line of natural and dredged sand lined by shops, restaurants, RV parks, docks and marinas - some personal and some commercial.

We both really liked Homer. We had watched a lot of YouTube videos, documentaries and reality shows about Alaska and one of them was pretty critical of Homer. So we were pleasantly surprised. It's small and has a good mix of businesses including restaurants and is low key friendly.
