June 14, 2022 - Fishhook, AK - 180 miles

Today we left Seward and headed north about 180 miles to Fishhook just outside Palmer. Traffic was steady and weather was nice. Temperatures started in the low 50s and warmed up to upper 60s with sun.

The highlight of the day was visiting the Musk Ox Farm, a nonprofit organization for raising musk oxen and harvesting their fur. They collect about 300 pounds of fur by simply brushing them and picking up clumps of fur in the fields. Our tour guide said it is the second rarest natural fur in the world used for weaving. She said what the rarest was but I forgot, some animal in South America, no, not llamas.

We have a cozy (small) cabin for the next 2 nights. Tomorrow we are going to checkout Palmer then, after those 10 minutes, eat and rest up.

We were allowed to pet these 2 stuffed Musk Oxen (that's the plural of Musk Ox)

Our tiny cabin

Thought about trading the motorcycle for this 1942 Harvester but decided we couldn't afford the gas driving it back to Florida
